Tuning the Vine #InnerCityWineRoute is presented by Fine Wine Events. Tuning the Vine takes place in the heart of the Cape Town, linking the most exciting venues in the city for a mid-week wine adventure. It takes place on a Wednesday after First Thursdays from 17h30 to 21h00. Wine lovers are able to walk from the one venue to the next finding a different experience at each venue.
In order to access this amazing experience, tickets cost R150 and can be purchased via Quicket. Included in your ticket, you will receive a glass and have access to the all the venues on the route and can also participate in courses on a first time basis. Glasses can be collected and tickets can also be purchased at 91on Loop and Orphanage on Upper Bree Street. A Sommelier Taste Tour can be booked at an extra R100 per person and lasts for 45 about minutes, which will lead you to new wines and wine stories and a guide will tailor your route according to your preferences.
There are 16 venues that offer different activities and experiences. Some of the venues are, The House of Machines offering wine cocktails and aperitifs, The Gin Bar offers wine tastings and chocolate pairings, Signal Hill offers wine tasting and stories and Tjing Tjing rooftop Bar offers pure wine tasting, to name a few. Wine and food pairing can also be booked for R200 at Tjing Tjing’s Taste Theatre. There are also take away food options for wine lovers that are on the go.
Booking for the Sommelier Taste Tour and Taste Theatre is essential as places are limited. Tickets for the #InnerCityWineRoute can be purchased on the day at R170 but it is best to purchase online as the tickets are sold at R150 on Quicket.
