Fortunately with Cape Town being a city full of open spaces, natural beauty and fresh air, there is still heaps for you do, even when social distancing due to Coronavirus (COVID-19). With never@home being in such a prime location, many of these activities are within short walking distance from us.

RENT A BIKE FOR THE DAY

Cycling. The perfect activity when social distancing. You will be happy to know that we have bikes available for rent at never@home with fees that won’t break the bank (unlike many of the other bicycle rentals in Cape Town!). Our location makes cycling easy and enjoyable. If you would rather cycle in a small group and have one of our travel experts guide you, then you can join our free Monday evening sunset cycle. We meet at our reception desk at 6pm, grab the bikes the set off towards the Sea Point Promenade which is a few km of pure natural beauty. With no busy roads to cycle on, this route is ideal for everyone – as long as you know how to ride a bicycle!

HEAD TO ONE OF CAPE TOWN’S MANY BEACHES

Head to one of Cape Town’s stunning beaches and soak up your own slice of paradise. With ten beaches of our beaches being awarded the Blue Flag this season, you really are spoilt for choice! These Blue Flag beaches include: Silwerstroomstrand, Clifton 4th, Camps Bay, Llandudno, Mnandi Beach, Strandfontein Beach, Bikini, Muizenberg Beach, and Fish Hoek. With some of these beaches being just a short uber ride from never@home. However, if you are not wanting to take public transport at this time, then fear not. As the beaches in Sea Point are striking and also within walking distance from us. If you can muster up at early start, sunrise in Sea Point is particularly magical, with spectacular views of Lion’s Head Mountain on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Not only this, but the beaches will be quiet during this time and there will be a sensational sense of calm – which is needed for many during this bonkers and uncertain time.

KEEP ACTIVE AND GO FOR  A WALK

The Sea Point Promenade is close to never@home and makes for an ideal coastal walk. It also is a great way to keep active whilst cashing in on some of Cape Town’s best views PLUS it is easy to keep a social distance away from others.  The V&A Waterfront is also within a 10 minute walk from never@home. Although they have restricted their opening hours from 9am until 6pm but they still remain very much open to the public. The harbour and outside is beautiful and worth walking around!

HIKE ONE OF CAPE TOWN’S SPECTACULAR MOUNTAINS

Please be aware that Table Mountain have closed their cable car and Lion’s Head Mountain is closed due to a recent fire in the area. HOWEVER there are still so many hikes that you can enjoy and hike. We could list the endless routes but instead we recommend you chat directly with our Travel Guru, Phil who knows these hikes better than anyone!

PARAGLIDING

Viewing the gorgeous Mother-City from above – nothing beats it! Breath in that fresh air and take in those views as you glide from Signal Hill, landing on the grass next to the Sea Point Promenade.
