With the end of the year fast approaching if you haven’t already made plans for New Years Eve then you should! The end of this special year has to be celebrated in style of course and with the endless possibilities in Cape Town, we wouldn’t be surprised if the task of finding the right spot becomes too much. So, we have put together a list of awesome places and hip parties to help you start 2017 in style!

The Randy Warthog

Wherever you choose to see in the New Year be sure to get that butt of yours to our bar and grill, the Randy Warthog for pre-drinks in a friendly, sociable environment. Randy shall also be hosting a NYE braai, so you don’t have to worry about anything but what drink you are going to have next. The braai will include a traditional braai and a free drink. We will start the fire early and food will be served from 2! And remember you guys joining us are welcome to use Randy’s watering hole (swimming pool to those in the know) to cool down. Pop in to the hostel to purchase your braai tickets in advance!

New Year’s Eve at V&A Waterfront

The V&A Waterfront is a very popular place to be at the best of times and NYE is not different. During this year’s V&A NYE party the theme is carnival. The Waterfront will be filled with different areas with amazing music and cirque performances. There will also be a beautiful firework show for visitors to enjoy. And to make it even better this experience is completely FREE! If you are wanting to watch the fireworks away from the crowds our top tip would be to view them from the on the Croquet Lawn above Ulundi parking lot (next to the Springbok museum).

Kinky Summer New Year’s Eve Party

La Paris Estate in Franschoek is hosting an awesome festival for NYE. It starts at 12pm, so you can enjoy the pools while listening to chill vibes. With international DJ’s and South African talent, it will surely be a good place to end your year.

New Year’s Eve Concert at Kirstenbosch

The whole summer long the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens hosts concerts in their beautiful gardens on Sundays and special one is held on Saturday the 31st of December. During this end of the year concert Johnny Clegg and Slow Jack will be performing beautiful live music. The concert starts at 8:30pm instead of the usual 5pm allowing you to see in the New Year with them. We recommend arriving a little earlier to enjoy the gardens and to prep a lekker picnic hamper full of goodies for you to enjoy before the concert. Oh, and wine. Don’t forget the wine.

HQ New Year’s Eve Experience

Join HQ for a night of fun themed around a tropical paradise which will make you feel like you are celebrating the New Year on a tropical island. NYE at Stardust theatrical dining

Mad about musicals? If so, this is a must-attend 2016 celebration for you! Known for its super sound, witty waiters and scrumptious cuisine, this locally-loved dinner-show establishment promises to be awesome. With a line-up jam-packed with top tunes, allowing you to see in the New Year in style!

PACHA Ibiza Party

Do you want to end 2016 the Ibiza way? Pacha returns to Cape Town once more to end the year with a blast. Dance the year away with amazing tunes from national and international DJ’s. And of course a Pacha party isn’t complete without a few raunchy dancers, and this one is no different!

The Cape Town Comedy Club New Year’s Eve Party

At the Cape Town Comedy Club, you can end the year with belly laughs and a smile on your face. During this year’s NYE party 5 comedians will perform before DJ Godfrey takes over to change a laughing crowd into a dancing crowd. The doors open at 6pm and the party starts at 9pm. Not looking forward to ending the year on a dancefloor with a DJ playing loud music? NYE at Nederburg might be a good alternative. This year, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will be welcoming 2017 in style with a beautiful concert in the sophisticated surrounds of Nederburg Wine Farm. Bring your own picnic goodies and taste wines from the farm to end your busy year in a more relaxing way.
