Long Street, Cape Town has become world famous for being one of the first places tourists/backpackers tend to visit as soon as they arrive in the Mother City.
We have decided to bring you all of our favourite hangouts, restaurants, pubs and clubs that are worth checking out when staying in our gorgeous city.
This week we start at the very top of Long Street, and we will be focusing in one of Cape Town’s most popular destinations when wanting to hear good music and meet new people, none other than the Waiting Room.
The ever popular Waiting Room is found at the top of Long Street above Royale Eatery (one of the best burger restaurants in town). Most weekend nights, you will see a jam packed balcony buzzing with activity. On Friday night’s The Waiting Room hosts one of the city’s most popular eclectic events called Uppercut, where you can expect a mix of hip hop, electronica, bass vibes, soulful vibes, and all that other good stuff. Uppercut caters for everyone and won’t make a huge dent in your budget, with a cover charge of R30 before 10pm and R40 after.
