Even though we are still experiencing some wintery weather, we are just a short few days away from Spring! The days will start getting longer and warmer. Jackets will turn into t-shirts. Flowers will start blooming, whales will start coming to our shores to watch humans. But what our crew love most about Spring is the steady stream of tourists that never@home will get to welcome to the hostel. After all, making sure guests have a blast in Cape Town is what we all do best!

Please join us in congratulating the below crew members for standing out from our awesome crowd and winning our crew of the month awards.

HOUSEKEEPER OF THE MONTH – VICTORIA KEREJANE

If you haven’t noticed, we take cleanliness seriously here. So as our Trainee Supervisor, Victoria is in charge of making sure all the housekeepers are fully trained up on our hostel’s very high standards and procedures. Someone with an eagle eye for detail and a never-say-die attitude, she is one of the most invaluable members of our crew.

MANAGER OF THE MONTH – ROELOF CROUKAMP

Our bar and grill, the Randy Warthog, has gone through a lot of change in the past few months. Not only cosmetically, but also staffing wise. Roelof started out as a guest who was looking for work and was quickly thrown into the deep end when we found ourselves in some bother. He didn’t only swim, he did backflips and those choreographed moves you see at the Olympics. In a very short period of time, he impressed us with his commitment, work ethic and the fact that he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – EBRAHIM SAYED

Ebrahim started working as a never@home receptionist in May 2019 and almost immediately started getting consistent positive mentions in reviews from guests. He has been improving month on month and learns more and more with every shift. It has been a real pleasure to watch Ebrahim gain in confidence to deliver high-quality work no matter what we throw at him. An ever-friendly feature of the reception desk. Well done on winning this months award!
