never@home wouldn’t be the home it is without its staff, so please join us in congratulating Unathi Masana as our Employee of the Month for April 2017.

Unathi has worked for never@home in the Randy Warthog as a bar lady since July 2016 and during this time she has consistently provided professional friendly service to our patrons, successfully completed the responsibilities of her role and at the same time worked very well with her colleagues in both the bar and kitchen.

Over the past few weeks, Unathi has worked excessive hours to cover other people’s shifts and in the process shown to us what a great team player she is. Be sure to say hi to her when you next pop by the Randy!

But until then and in order for you to get to know Unathi a little better we asked her a few questions about herself and Cape Town. This was her response …

What encouraged you to travel to Cape Town for the first time?

I travelled to Cape Town for school purposes. I always told myself that after matric I will finish my education here.

How did you find out about never@home?

I was working somewhere else, a friend of mine told me that there was a nice place called the Randy Warthog and that I should apply to work there. I came one day to have a drink and I liked the place. So here I am!

What are your top 3 things to do in Cape Town?

Explore Cape Town, hike up Lion’s Head and to go out.

What is your favourite dish at the Randy?

It would have to be the chicken salad with avocado. YUM.

Aside from the Randy Warthog (of course), where else do you like to eat and/or drink in Cape Town?

I often go to Roccomamas for food and for drinks I like to go to the Dubliner in Long Street.

If you were a cartoon character who would you be? And why?

I would be Jerry from Tom and Jerry as he is smart. He overcomes all and often turns the cats plans back against him.

If you could only take one item on holiday with you, what would it be?

My phone.

Besides Cape Town where is your next favourite place to visit in Africa?

Zanzibar Island.
