Preparing for its 17th annual event, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on the 1st and 2nd April 2016. CTIJF is an annual music festival hosted at the CTICC on the weekend of March or first weekend of April. It is the top event for the leading events management production company, espAfrika, which has staged and produced several well-known events. CTIJF is also referred to as “Africa’s Grandest Gathering” and is the largest music festival in sub-Saharan Africa.

This year, the festival boasts multiple stage with more than 40 artists performing and the programming is made up of a 50/50 split between South African artists and international artists. Each year, more than 30 000 music lovers attends the festival over the 2 days. International artists like Eddie Parker, Angie Stone, Lizz Wright and Mark Turner will be performing live on stage including our local artists Benjamin Jephta Quintet, Mafikizolo, Cameron Ward and Khuli Chana.

The CTIJF has also developed a Corporate Social Investment programme in order to assist in the development of the music arts industry by having a training and development programme throughout the year and during the festival. The Training and Development programme is run by the South Atlantic Arts and Culture Trust.
