iKhaya Le Themba is a local community project that we are very proud to help support and be part of.
iKhaya Le Themba provides holistic care to children and families made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS and other difficult life circumstances. “iKhaya Le Themba”, meaning home of hope, offers after school care with structured programmes in a safe and stimulating environment. In addition, the school is also a place which provides opportunities for fun, cuddles, play, as well as a home cooked meal.
Here at never@home we try to offer as much help as we possibly can to this incredibly worthy cause. We organise regular trips to the school with our guests as we think that a visit to the school is not only a remarkable once in a lifetime experience but the joy and happiness filled on the children’s faces when they have someone new to play with is also priceless. If you would like to visit the iKhaya kids during your stay at never@home please drop an email to – firstname.lastname@example.org
We also have a couple of donation boxes located around the hostel for you to donate any left over South African Rand that you won’t be needing back home and also a larger box for your unwanted/unused holiday items. Remember what might seem like rubbish to you is another person’s treasure.
iKhaya Le Themba longs for a world where “every child has a hope and future and that the negative effects of poverty, trauma, and HIV & AIDS are no longer seen”. We hope that you can join us in supporting this wonderful cause.
